They all say they’re voting for Romney because of his economic policies (tenuous and ill-formed as they are), and that they disagree with him on gay rights. Fine. Obviously the Romney stuff is out-of-date but the sentiment is still very relevant. With a dozen states recognizing marriage equality this victory is looking more inevitable than ever.

From such ratings one might conclude that sexual violence against women is OK for American teenagers to see, but that they must be 18 to see consensual sex. I feel the same way about verbal censorship. When movies get cleaned up for tv, swear words get replaced but often derogatory words make it through.

I found this in the backyard of my childhood home. I don’t remember doing it, but I would have been six, so that’s not surprising. What is surprising is that it says “Daniel,” not “Danny.” It feels like I’ve been “Danny” my whole life. Maybe at the time, this seemed like a formal situation.

Free Comic Book Day!

Yesterday was FCBD and this is my swag. Rebecca and I hit up Dr. Comics & Mr. Games in Oakland in the morning and Mission: Comics & Art in the evening, two really great stores. Dr. Comics has been my go-to shop for a few years (sorry hijinks) but this was my first time at Mission: Comics. An employee at Mission: Comics told me that this was the most successful FCBD they’d ever had.

Catches of the Day: Astro City, Madman and Orc Stain.

No, I’m a Mexican-American Jew, born and bred in California. I spent a week in Bergen, Norway a few months ago and had a lot of great brød and lox. And fish cakes.

I’ve never been asked if I was Norwegian before, usually the guess is Swedish, because of my doppelganger, Other Danny Saucedo.
