If someone ever tells you a certain song is important to them you should turn it up and lay on your bed and close your eyes and really listen to it even if its 10 minutes long because at the end you will know that person much better I think
What song is that important to you?

I just returned to America after a couple months abroad. When I returned from Europe three years ago I wrote this song. It’s available for free download along with 3 1/2 hours of original music.Dave Grohl (via austinkleon)
This but for books.

Not only do I agree with the sentiment in general, I have long argued that “Toxic” is a great song.

More new music.
See it through
Sadness is contagious
Depression comes on in stages
But you don’t have to let the world swallow you up
When you kick and scream, you can get unstuck
If you can’t get it all, get it enough
The world is tough, but so are you
If the draft’s too rough, move on to draft two
Focus on the love and what is true
See it through, see it through
Laughter comes on like rabies
You’re foaming at the mouth and acting crazy
But you don’t have to let nature burn you up
When the fever breaks, who will you become?
If you can’t give it all give enough
Madness comes on like dreaming
What’s real, what’s not, is just a feeling
But you don’t have to let your demons wind you up
When your gears start going, what can make them stop?
If you can’t be it all, be enough
Every year I write a song for my birthday. Here’s this year’s song.
Modern Civilization
I don’t like trippin’ alone, won’t you travel with me?
Spacecraft made of bones, through the galaxy
I make another big rotation, baby take a ride on my spaceship
A fricative, homophone, brake the breakdown
Stop and leave it alone, let it bray down
The brae or into an alleyway, analogous to the gist of what I say
Who done it and why didn’t they want us to know?
“Anonymous” is an ominous sign of hope
That our acts are backed by providence
It’s evident that the proper response is this:
Knowledge is the great unknown like a galaxy
Any borders or zones are a fallacy
I take my cues from babies and animals, connecting words like elements, molecules
All ages come to pass, so do passages
Dream a path through grass, until messages
Form from footsteps and energy to eulogize an elegant elegy
Who done it and why didn’t they want us to know?
“Anonymous” is an ominous sign of hope
That our acts are backed by providence
It’s obvious that the evidence points to this:
A memory of a memory of a mammary gland
Disbursing life like a lion nursing a lamb
Flim-flam is magic until you see the strings
It’s tragic to pull back the curtain on everything
Two paths diverged in a wood
I chose neither and I never felt so damn good
If clouds could carry more than thunder and rain
Do you think they would carry on this refrain?
Make another big rotation, baby take a ride on my spaceship
Today is my birthday. Here’s us playing my birthday songs from the Year-of-EPs.
Didn’t get me a birthday gift? That’s ok, just go download these songs and all the others at my site and then tell your friends to do the same.

First Cut is the Deepest by P. P. Arnold
Wow. Thanks for posting this, Ryan. This has long been my favorite Cat Stevens song, but I’ve never heard this version. You might be interested in listening to the Koobas version.
